"The history of the watch can be traced back to the production of pocket watches, as is equally true for DAVOSA. Many decades passed before the watch found its place on the wrists of a broader public. An important step in this direction was taken by the use of timekeepers in avionics. These timepieces were usually housed in a robust, stainless steel case. The dials were often dark with strongly contrasting, luminous figures, because good readability was essential. The Pilot Chronograph, with its day and date display, follows this historic tradition. The stainless steel case is decorated with a generous onion crown with a strong cannelure and, in addition to its other details, a double O-ring gasket guarantees an atmospheric pressure resistance of 10 bars. This is the defining characteristic of this otherwise very functionally designed timepiece. A matt black dial with strong luminous index and Arabic figures together with luminous hands fulfil the most stringent requirements for good readability. The chronograph counters are well visible yet not overly dominant. A brief glance – even under tough visibility conditions at night – suffices to gather the necessary information. An elegant design complemented by downturned lugs gives the robust Pilot an incomparably masculine feel. The view through the screw-down transparent back will enchant the connoisseur: blue screws, pearlised bridges, côte circulaire on the rotor and rhodium plating all understand how to impress.
